Glorious piece of English history, a fully functional set of vintage antique butchers scales dating back to 1949. Would dress any Butchers window or a kitchen setting divinely. Made by Davies and Co. of Colchester (then part of Vandome & Hart, see images showing the original shop). carrying the original 'Weights and Measure' assay lead stamp showing King George VI. An aged Cararra marble top sits on a gorgeous honey toned oak plinth with original makers decals. Top brass dish with makers embossed 'Perry.Ilford' (who signed underside showing signed regular checks with dates). The original white china plate has wonderfully crackling to the glaze. Cast iron workings with perfectly patinated brass and copper detailing.
